Medicare Open Enrollment Has Started

Medicare does not cover everything. We help you discover ways to SAVE the difference. Open enrollment period Oct. 15th – Dec 7th

In our commitment to you as your insurance agent, we have always vowed to keep you up-to-date on information concerning your Medicare policies. If you would like to change plans, call us to confidentially discuss your options! The Open Enrollment period runs from October 15 to December 7. We represent four major insurance companies: Aetna, BCBSNC, Humana, and United Healthcare.

A Medicare supplement (Medigap) insurance, sold by private companies, can help pay some of the health care costs that Original Medicare doesn’t cover, like co-payments, coinsurance, and deductibles.

You have a choice of Medigap plans to meet your needs and budget. You can choose any doctor or hospital that accepts Medicare patients and you may visit any specialist who accepts Medicare patients with virtually no need for referrals.

Buy a policy when you’re first eligible
The best time to buy a Medigap policy is during your 6-month Medigap open enrollment period, because you can buy any Medigap policy sold in your state, even if you have health problems. This period automatically starts three months before you turn 65, the month of your birthday, and three months after. You must be enrolled in Medicare Part  A & B., and once it’s over, you can’t get it again. You can get a new policy any time you move to a new coverage area.

4 things to know about Medigap policies

  1. You must have Medicare Part A and Part B.
  2. You can buy a Medigap policy from any insurance company that’s licensed in your state to sell one.
  3. Because Medigap policies are regulated by state and Federal laws, the benefits for all the coverage options are the same regardless of insurer. The differences will be in the price.
  4. If you want prescription drug coverage, you can join a Medicare Prescription Drug Plan (Part D).
